The article examines memoirs of two Saint Petersburg intellectuals of the Soviet period – D. A. Zasosov and V. I. Pyzin –
on Saint Petersburg everyday life in the 1890-1910s. The research objectives are as follows: to analyse the memoirs and to identify
their importance for the domestic historiography. Scientific originality of the paper lies in the fact that the researchers reveal
importance of the “Memoirs” as a valuable source to study everyday life of the metropolis. The findings indicate that “Memoirs”
are a verified, highly reliable source.
